Participants understand that cycling involves some risk and will follow safety instructions and participate at their own risk. Parents/guardians of any participant aged 16 or under, consent to their child undertaking lessons.
Participants must be medically fit to take part and they have no known contraindications to suggest that the activity they are undertaking is not suitable for them.
Pedal Perfect Cycling Lessons and its instructors are not liable for injuries, loss or damage to persons or property whether using their own bikes or hiring one for the lesson.
Photos/videos may be taken for training and development purposes as well as for social media/promotional purposes. You may opt in/out by informing the instructor.
Participants or their parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring the bicycle and helmet is safe, fit for purpose and a suitable size for the rider. Participants must be able to reach and press their brake levers and feet able to rest flat on the ground when sat on the bike. If unsure, seek advice from a professional. The instructor may make minor adjustments to the bicycle but will not carry out more technical adjustments/repairs. If the bicycle or helmet is deemed to be unsuitable for any reason, the instructor reserves the right to refuse the lesson and you will not be entitled to a refund or credit.
Helmets are mandatory in order to participate. You will forfeit your lesson in the event you don't bring a helmet. Helmets must fit properly, securely and be in good condition. Please avoid full face helmets or helmets designed for other sports.
Please remove stabilisers and pedals before the lesson but bring the pedals with you if possible to maximise learning time, although instructor can assist if needed.
If hiring a bike for the lesson, please tell us the height of your child size when making the booking. If in doubt, check with us at least 24 hours before the lesson as refunds will not given if the bike size is unsuitable for the learner. Malicious or intentional damage caused to the bike during the course of the lesson may lead to suspension of the lesson and repair or replacement cost to be borne by the learner or their guardians.
Parents/guardians must remain on location to observe but are not required to assist. Whilst they can be involved, it can sometimes impede the progress and the instructor will not be responsible for any disappointment or lack of progress that may arise. No refunds will be given in such situations.
The instructor may physically support learners by placing their hands on their back, shoulders, torso, hands and feet where appropriate.
Instructors may suspend the lesson if a child’s behaviour is deemed unsafe or puts others at risk.
You understand that everyone learns at different paces and therefore, the instructor will gently encourage but never force students to do something they don’t want. Students need to be willing and open to follow guidance. Feedback will be provided so you will be told how to improve or offered further lessons.
A full refund will be issued for cancellations made at least 14 days before the scheduled lesson date.
Cancellations with less than 14 days notice: No refunds will be given if you choose to cancel the lesson for any reason.
If the participant is unwell: please let us know at least 48 hours before the lesson where possible, to allow the slot to be offered to someone else. A reschedule may be offered, subject to availability and a £20 rebooking fee. The new date must be confirmed within 7 days of the original lesson, otherwise a new booking will be required at the usual price. If we're notified less than 48 hours before the lesson, or the participant doesn't attend without prior notice, this will be treated as a no-show.
Bookings are personal to the named participant and therefore non-transferable to other people, dates or times.
If you arrive late or don't show up, you will forfeit your lesson and a new booking will be required at the usual cost. Please ensure you follow the instructions on where to meet using what3words as outlined in your booking instructions.
In case of severe weather or heavy rain, lessons may have to be postponed to another date or time. If rain gets heavy during a lesson then we may pause to let it pass. Decision will be made based on a dynamic risk assessment at the time.
Pedal Perfect Cycling Lessons reserves the right to cancel a group lesson if there are insufficient bookings to proceed. In such circumstances, customers will be given as much notice as possible, ideally no less than 2 days. An alternative date/venue will be offered. No refunds will be given.
